To be employed at Agnico Eagle, you will need to complete an application. You can complete it online by clicking on the ‘’apply online here’’ button on this page or you can visit a member of the Sanajiksanut team at your community office. 

Pre-Employment Training Program

The pre-employment training program is a 10-day training delivered together by Ilitaqsiniq and Agnico Eagle. During the training sessions, you will learn about communication, teamwork, time and money management, what it means to work in a mining operation and you will also learn about different departments and job opportunities.

Available for Work

Once candidates have successfully completed their pre-employment training program, they become available for work. At this stage, you will wait to be contacted by a member of our Sanajiksanut team when an opportunity arises. It is important to note that positions may not be available immediately, but our team will be in touch with you as soon as there is an opening. 

Official Hiring

Once you have received your phone call informing you there is an opening at one of our Nunavut sites, and if you accept the offer, you are officially hired. During this time, you will perform your duties within your team, but you will also be able to look at different career development opportunities with specialists on site. 

Post-Employment

When your contract comes to an end, you will be returned to our list of potential employees who are available for work and we will contact you again whenever another opportunity arises. If you resign or are dismissed, you will need to go through the pre-employment training program again before becoming available for work.

Paths to Employment

A: The Sanajiksanut process is designed for candidates who have no, or limited work experience without specific training. With our 10-day pre-employment training, we will help you get ready for employment at one of our mine sites.

B:  We also have opportunities for candidates with relevant experience and technical skills. You can apply directly on a specific job posting of your interest and that you are qualified for.
